Introduction

After living and working in the United States, I started working as a free-lance translator from English in the main European languages and vice versa in 1994: Backed by many years of legal experience in both the Netherlands and in the United States, further complemented by various legal training courses, I now mainly specialise in legal texts. In addition, I enjoy translating other texts also, more specifically ICT-related texts.

If you require a translation that falls outside the scope of my own specialisation, I rely on other qualified mother-tongue translators that can accurately carry out your assignment to your fullest satisfaction.

EXPERIENCE:
After having translated for many years as an executive secretary, I eased into professional translation and followed translation studies. In addition to being Corporate Translator for Dutchtone (now Orange) for two years, I have about 8 years and more experience in freelance and professional translations in The Netherlands and abroad, as well as general international experience set in multicultural environments in Europe, the Middle East and the U.S.A. My knowledge of both English and Dutch is excellent English is my working language and I check my translations with a native speaker editor. I also carry out interpretations for depositions at any location in Europe, usually patent litigation. I also translate a lot of medical studies on pharmaceutical drugs.
